Raphael F. Ribeiro’s work focuses on simulating light-matter interactions and chemical dynamics in nano and mesoscopic materials. His research includes the development and application of theories for the investigation of systems with a large number of molecules interacting with nano or microstructures such as photonic materials, metal nanoparticles, polar insulator surfaces, and topological insulators. Raphael received his B.Sc. from the Federal University of São Carlos in Brazil, his M.S. from the University of Minnesota, and his Ph.D. from UCIrvine. Prior to becoming an Assistant Professor at Emory, Raphael was a post-doctoral fellow at UC San Diego. His work has been recognized with the Young Investigator Award from the ACS Physical Chemistry Division and NSF CAREER Award.
